INTERVIEWS

Following the completion of my internship at Tone Deaf in 2016, I quickly began to take on as many live interviews as I could, using it as an opportunity to not only speak to as many amazing local and international artists as possible, but to pen some words about their stunning projects, careers, or future artistic focuses wherever I could.

Between January of 2017 and my exit from The Brag Media in April of 2022, I conducted 171 interviews for around 161 separate published pieces. This also includes three cover stories for Rolling Stone Australia (Sia in November of 2020, Chet Faker in June of 2021, and Daniel Johns in April of 2022), of which I consider the latter to be one of my best published pieces to date.

This list doesn’t include a handful of filmed interviews I conducted for Splendour In The Grass 2019 (which included conversations with Wolfmother, Ruby Fields, Pist Idiots, and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, though I’d later speak to the latter two for different interviews), nor does it include interviews which didn’t take place for one reason or another (including The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson, Van Morrison, The Lemonheads’ Evan Dando, Sebadoh’s Lou Barlow, Oasis’ Noel Gallagher, AFI’s Davey Havok, or Run The Jewels, to name a few).

To date, the interview which resulted in my all-time favourite feature was my chat with Melbourne’s Private Function in August of 2020. Meanwhile, some of these interviews (including those with Sia, Tim Minchin, Elvis Costello, and Daniel Johns) also found international syndication, having appeared on the Colombian, American, and Japanese editions of Rolling Stone, respectively.

Below, you’ll find handy links to each of these reviews in the chronological order of which they were published, but not the order in which the interviews were conducted.
